Senior Garrison Ferone sets college’s all-time hits record
Ferone recorded his 206th career hit and made Buccaneer history.
Senior Garrison Ferone recorded his 206th career hit, breaking the all-time record, becoming the college’s Hit King. The previous record of 204 was held by Mike Kovach’11.
Ferone’s record-breaking performance was part of a spectacular 16-6 victory against Lawrence on Tuesday.
Senior Matt O’Leary scored his 48th run, breaking a single-season record that was also held by Kovach. Kovach scored 46 runs in 2009, a year in which he recorded 74 hits and 34 stolen bases.
Sophomore Aiden Phipps recorded his 8th win of the year, tying the individual season record held by Ryan Kaveney’16. Kaveney won eight games in his senior season, leading the team to a conference championship. In the conference tournament, he recorded two wins and a save.
The Bucs will take on Cornell in a twinbill starting at noon April 29 at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium.
