The Office of the Provost and Dean of the College is responsible for academic and student life programs and for supporting the faculty and staff.

The Office of the Provost and Dean oversees all college operations directly pertaining to academic affairs and student life. This approach integrates all activities related to the curriculum and co-curriculum including Academic Departments and Programs; Student Success, Equity and Community; Residential Life; Career and Community Engagement; International Education; Museums; Athletics; Library; Information Technology Services; and Registrar.

Provost and Dean of the College

Donna Oliver leads the college’s academic program and has general oversight of the student experience. The success of students and the growth and support of faculty are deeply embedded in Oliver’s commitment to the Beloit College community.

Oliver, who holds the Martha Peterson Chair for Distinguished Faculty Service, has served the college in a variety of roles, including interim co-provost, associate dean of the college, accreditation liaison officer, chair of the department of modern languages and literatures, and special assistant to the provost.

Associate Provost

As Associate Provost, Watson is charged with expanding partnerships. Watson, previously co-director of the College’s Career Channels program, will help expand the college to support student recruitment and career development opportunities.

A political science & health and society (public health) professor who encourages students to engage in real-world solutions and deep, passionate thinking, Watson joined the college in 2013. Since then, he has served on search committees to hire faculty in biology, chemistry, sociology, and political science, and on governance committees encompassing areas ranging from professional development and academic and strategic planning to teaching and learning.
